CVSS v3.1 |
| Improper limitation of a pathname to a restricted directory ('path traversal') in Windows Compressed Folder allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges locally. |
| n8n is an open source workflow automation platform. Prior to 1.123.76, 2.37.7, and 2.38.2, the Git node validated the repository parameter for fetch or pull, but setUpstream wrote a branch..remote value into repository configuration without validating it. A later fetch or pull resolved the remote from that configuration instead of the checked parameter. An authenticated workflow editor could therefore point Git at any local repository readable by the n8n process and receive its contents through packages/nodes-base/nodes/Git/GenericFunctions.ts. This issue is fixed in versions 1.123.76, 2.37.7 and 2.38.2. |
| Improper limitation of a pathname to a restricted directory ('path traversal') in Windows PowerShell allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges over a network. |
| Rattler is a library that provides common functionality used within the conda ecosystem. `rattler_cache` prior to version 0.9.0 and `py-rattler` prior to version 0.24.0 were vulnerable to package-cache path traversal when handling package metadata from conda channels. During cache materialization, the `ratter_cache` code used the package record `build` string as part of a cache key that was joined into a filesystem path. A malicious or untrusted channel could publish repodata with path separators or traversal components in that field, causing package contents to be written outside the configured package cache directory. The issue requires use of a malicious or otherwise untrusted conda channel. Curated channels that validate package metadata are not expected to allow malformed build strings of this form. Users should upgrade to `rattler_cache` version 0.9.0 or `py-rattler` version 0.24.0 and avoid untrusted conda channels. |
| The WP BackItUp Community Edition plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Directory Traversal in all versions up to, and including, 2.1.0 via the 'backup_file' parameter parameter. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with administrator-level access and above, to read the contents of arbitrary files on the server, which can contain sensitive information. The basename() normalization present in the handler only executes when the traversed target path does not exist, providing no protection against reads of existing files. |
| The Direct Download for WooCommerce plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Directory Traversal in all versions up to, and including, 1.19 via the (top-level include) function. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to read the contents of arbitrary files on the server, which can contain sensitive information. The product ownership check only verifies that some free, virtual, downloadable product exists on the site — not that the requested file path belongs to that product's configured downloads — making exploitation viable on any WooCommerce site with at least one such product. |
| Information loss or omission in Safebrowsing in Google Chrome on on Mac prior to 153.0.8010.36 allowed a remote attacker to bypass system access restrictions via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: Medium) |
| A security vulnerability has been detected in proma-ai Proma up to 0.19.37. Affected is the function resolveTargetPath of the file apps/electron/src/main/lib/file-preview-service.ts of the component File Preview Service. Such manipulation of the argument file_path leads to path traversal. Local access is required to approach this attack. The exploit has been disclosed publicly and may be used. Upgrading to version 0.19.52 is able to address this issue. The name of the patch is b7bf78ab74b1552c92fc98c7db9a8a8d92c631df. It is suggested to upgrade the affected component. The PoC's candidateBasePaths parameter name does not match the current IPC API (0.19.52 uses FileAccessOptions with internal getPreviewCandidateBasePaths()). The reporter likely targeted 0.16.3 where the IPC handler accepted raw string[] base paths. The core vulnerability - basename-collision fallback - is independent of the parameter name and is confirmed in source. |
| nbviewer through 1.0.1 contains a path traversal vulnerability in LocalFileHandler.can_show() that uses string-prefix comparison instead of proper path validation. Attackers can read files from sibling directories outside the configured root by requesting paths that share the root as a textual prefix, disclosing unintended notebooks and credentials. |
| h3 (npm package) versions <= 2.0.1-rc.14 contain a path traversal vulnerability in serveStatic(). On Node.js deployments, event.url.pathname is not normalized, so percent-encoded dot segments (%2e%2e) are passed to decodeURI() and decoded to ../ sequences without sanitization. An unauthenticated remote attacker can send crafted requests to endpoints served by serveStatic() to read arbitrary files outside the intended static directory. Fixed in 1.15.6 and 2.0.1-rc.15. |
| ConvertX 0.17.0 contains an arbitrary file read vulnerability in the xelatex converter that allows authenticated users to read files by uploading LaTeX files with input directives. Attackers can upload .tex files containing \\input{path} or \\verbatiminput{path} directives to have the TeX engine read arbitrary files accessible to the server process and include them in downloadable PDF output. |
| IBM Langflow OSS 1.0.0 through 1.10.2 could allow an authenticated attacker to traverse directories on the system. An attacker could send a specially crafted URL request containing "dot dot" sequences (/../) to view arbitrary files on the system. |
| ICEcoder versions through 8.1 contain a path traversal vulnerability in the file-control endpoint due to a logic error in the document-root confinement check. The File::check() validation function compares realpath() to boolean true, which never succeeds, allowing authenticated attackers to submit traversal sequences or absolute paths in the file parameter to read, write, or delete files outside the configured document root. |
| knowns versions before 0.30.0 contain a path traversal vulnerability in the handleCodeReplace() function that allows attackers to overwrite arbitrary files outside the project root. Attackers can supply absolute paths or relative paths containing directory traversal sequences to write malicious content to sensitive files like shell startup scripts or SSH configuration files. |
| ICEcoder versions through 8.1 fail to properly validate the oldFileName parameter in file move and rename operations, allowing authenticated users to relocate files from outside the document root. Attackers can use path traversal sequences in oldFileName to move files writable by the PHP process into the web-accessible project directory, disclosing file contents and deleting originals. |
| Pandora contains a path traversal vulnerability in its archive extraction worker. When processing a specially crafted archive or disk image, attacker-controlled file paths could be used without ensuring that the resulting destination remained within the intended extraction directory.
An attacker able to submit a malicious file for analysis could use path traversal sequences or crafted paths to cause extracted content to be written outside the designated extraction directory, potentially overwriting files accessible to the Pandora worker process. Successful exploitation could result in unauthorized modification of application or system files, denial of service, and potentially further compromise depending on the permissions of the Pandora process and the files that can be overwritten.
The vulnerability is addressed by resolving each extraction destination path before writing and verifying that it remains below the expected extraction directory. Extraction attempts resolving outside this directory are rejected and reported as path traversal attempts. |
| Use of XsltView in a Spring MVC application can result in SSRF and RCE attack if the application has an "/**" mapping that results in view rendering, and where the view name is not explicitly specified.
Spring Framework 7.0.0 - 7.0.8
Spring Framework 6.2.0 - 6.2.19
Spring Framework 6.1.0 - 6.1.28
Spring Framework 6.0.0 - 6.0.30
Spring Framework 5.3.0 - 5.3.49
Spring Framework 5.2.25.RELEASE and earlier |
| There's a vulnerability in podman where an attacker may use the kube play command to overwrite host files when the kube file container a Secrete or a ConfigMap volume mount and such volume contains a symbolic link to a host file path. In a successful attack, the attacker can only control the target file to be overwritten but not the content to be written into the file.
Binary-Affected: podman

| Dell SCG 5.0 Appliance versions prior to 5.36.00.16 and Dell SCG 5.0 Application versions prior to 5.36.00.00, contains an Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal') vulnerability. An unauthenticated attacker with remote access could potentially exploit this vulnerability, leading to Unauthorized access |
| @fastify/http-proxy versions before 11.6.2 do not validate proxied HTTP request paths for backslash based dot-segments before forwarding them to the configured upstream. The plain HTTP request handler skips the destination validation that the WebSocket path performs, and the underlying reply-from library only rejects forward-slash traversal, so a request containing backslash dot-segments can escape the boundary set by the prefix and rewritePrefix options. An unauthenticated network attacker can use this to reach upstream paths that were meant to stay hidden behind the proxy, resulting in disclosure of internal endpoints. This is a path traversal issue (CWE-22). Users should upgrade to @fastify/http-proxy 11.6.2 or later. |
