CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
wifi: mt7601u: fix an integer underflow
Fix an integer underflow that leads to a null pointer dereference in
'mt7601u_rx_skb_from_seg()'. The variable 'dma_len' in the URB packet
could be manipulated, which could trigger an integer underflow of
'seg_len' in 'mt7601u_rx_process_seg()'. This underflow subsequently
causes the 'bad_frame' checks in 'mt7601u_rx_skb_from_seg()' to be
bypassed, eventually leading to a dereference of the pointer 'p', which
is a null pointer.
Ensure that 'dma_len' is greater than 'min_seg_len'.
Found by a modified version of syzkaller.

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
x86/MCE/AMD: Use an u64 for bank_map
Thee maximum number of MCA banks is 64 (MAX_NR_BANKS), see
a0bc32b3cacf ("x86/mce: Increase maximum number of banks to 64").
However, the bank_map which contains a bitfield of which banks to
initialize is of type unsigned int and that overflows when those bit
numbers are >= 32, leading to UBSAN complaining correctly:
UBSAN: shift-out-of-bounds in arch/x86/kernel/cpu/mce/amd.c:1365:38
shift exponent 32 is too large for 32-bit type 'int'
Change the bank_map to a u64 and use the proper BIT_ULL() macro when
modifying bits in there.

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ipv6/addrconf: fix a potential refcount underflow for idev
Now in addrconf_mod_rs_timer(), reference idev depends on whether
rs_timer is not pending. Then modify rs_timer timeout.
There is a time gap in [1], during which if the pending rs_timer
becomes not pending. It will miss to hold idev, but the rs_timer
is activated. Thus rs_timer callback function addrconf_rs_timer()
will be executed and put idev later without holding idev. A refcount
underflow issue for idev can be caused by this.
if (!timer_pending(&idev->rs_timer))
in6_dev_hold(idev);
<--------------[1]
mod_timer(&idev->rs_timer, jiffies + when);
To fix the issue, hold idev if mod_timer() return 0. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
iommu/iova: Fix alloc iova overflows issue
In __alloc_and_insert_iova_range, there is an issue that retry_pfn
overflows. The value of iovad->anchor.pfn_hi is ~0UL, then when
iovad->cached_node is iovad->anchor, curr_iova->pfn_hi + 1 will
overflow. As a result, if the retry logic is executed, low_pfn is
updated to 0, and then new_pfn < low_pfn returns false to make the
allocation successful.
This issue occurs in the following two situations:
1. The first iova size exceeds the domain size. When initializing
iova domain, iovad->cached_node is assigned as iovad->anchor. For
example, the iova domain size is 10M, start_pfn is 0x1_F000_0000,
and the iova size allocated for the first time is 11M. The
following is the log information, new->pfn_lo is smaller than
iovad->cached_node.
Example log as follows:
[ 223.798112][T1705487] sh: [name:iova&]__alloc_and_insert_iova_range
start_pfn:0x1f0000,retry_pfn:0x0,size:0xb00,limit_pfn:0x1f0a00
[ 223.799590][T1705487] sh: [name:iova&]__alloc_and_insert_iova_range
success start_pfn:0x1f0000,new->pfn_lo:0x1efe00,new->pfn_hi:0x1f08ff
2. The node with the largest iova->pfn_lo value in the iova domain
is deleted, iovad->cached_node will be updated to iovad->anchor,
and then the alloc iova size exceeds the maximum iova size that can
be allocated in the domain.
After judging that retry_pfn is less than limit_pfn, call retry_pfn+1
to fix the overflow issue. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
media: atomisp: prevent integer overflow in sh_css_set_black_frame()
The "height" and "width" values come from the user so the "height * width"
multiplication can overflow. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
crypto: cavium - prevent integer overflow loading firmware
The "code_length" value comes from the firmware file. If your firmware
is untrusted realistically there is probably very little you can do to
protect yourself. Still we try to limit the damage as much as possible.
Also Smatch marks any data read from the filesystem as untrusted and
prints warnings if it not capped correctly.
The "ntohl(ucode->code_length) * 2" multiplication can have an
integer overflow. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
bpf: fix potential 32-bit overflow when accessing ARRAY map element
If BPF array map is bigger than 4GB, element pointer calculation can
overflow because both index and elem_size are u32. Fix this everywhere
by forcing 64-bit multiplication. Extract this formula into separate
small helper and use it consistently in various places.
Speculative-preventing formula utilizing index_mask trick is left as is,
but explicit u64 casts are added in both places. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ima: Fix a potential integer overflow in ima_appraise_measurement
When the ima-modsig is enabled, the rc passed to evm_verifyxattr() may be
negative, which may cause the integer overflow problem. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
crypto: qat - add param check for DH
Reject requests with a source buffer that is bigger than the size of the
key. This is to prevent a possible integer underflow that might happen
when copying the source scatterlist into a linear buffer. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
crypto: qat - add param check for RSA
Reject requests with a source buffer that is bigger than the size of the
key. This is to prevent a possible integer underflow that might happen
when copying the source scatterlist into a linear buffer. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
fs/ntfs3: validate BOOT sectors_per_clusters
When the NTFS BOOT sectors_per_clusters field is > 0x80, it represents a
shift value. Make sure that the shift value is not too large before using
it (NTFS max cluster size is 2MB). Return -EVINVAL if it too large.
This prevents negative shift values and shift values that are larger than
the field size.
Prevents this UBSAN error:
UBSAN: shift-out-of-bounds in ../fs/ntfs3/super.c:673:16
shift exponent -192 is negative |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
firmware: arm_scmi: Fix list protocols enumeration in the base protocol
While enumerating protocols implemented by the SCMI platform using
BASE_DISCOVER_LIST_PROTOCOLS, the number of returned protocols is
currently validated in an improper way since the check employs a sum
between unsigned integers that could overflow and cause the check itself
to be silently bypassed if the returned value 'loop_num_ret' is big
enough.
Fix the validation avoiding the addition. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
uaccess: fix integer overflow on access_ok()
Three architectures check the end of a user access against the
address limit without taking a possible overflow into account.
Passing a negative length or another overflow in here returns
success when it should not.
Use the most common correct implementation here, which optimizes
for a constant 'size' argument, and turns the common case into a
single comparison. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
NFSD: prevent underflow in nfssvc_decode_writeargs()
Smatch complains:
fs/nfsd/nfsxdr.c:341 nfssvc_decode_writeargs()
warn: no lower bound on 'args->len'
Change the type to unsigned to prevent this issue. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
NFSD: prevent integer overflow on 32 bit systems
On a 32 bit system, the "len * sizeof(*p)" operation can have an
integer overflow. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
btrfs: fix qgroup reserve overflow the qgroup limit
We use extent_changeset->bytes_changed in qgroup_reserve_data() to record
how many bytes we set for EXTENT_QGROUP_RESERVED state. Currently the
bytes_changed is set as "unsigned int", and it will overflow if we try to
fallocate a range larger than 4GiB. The result is we reserve less bytes
and eventually break the qgroup limit.
Unlike regular buffered/direct write, which we use one changeset for
each ordered extent, which can never be larger than 256M. For
fallocate, we use one changeset for the whole range, thus it no longer
respects the 256M per extent limit, and caused the problem.
The following example test script reproduces the problem:
$ cat qgroup-overflow.sh
#!/bin/bash
DEV=/dev/sdj
MNT=/mnt/sdj
mkfs.btrfs -f $DEV
mount $DEV $MNT
# Set qgroup limit to 2GiB.
btrfs quota enable $MNT
btrfs qgroup limit 2G $MNT
# Try to fallocate a 3GiB file. This should fail.
echo
echo "Try to fallocate a 3GiB file..."
fallocate -l 3G $MNT/3G.file
# Try to fallocate a 5GiB file.
echo
echo "Try to fallocate a 5GiB file..."
fallocate -l 5G $MNT/5G.file
# See we break the qgroup limit.
echo
sync
btrfs qgroup show -r $MNT
umount $MNT
When running the test:
$ ./qgroup-overflow.sh
(...)
Try to fallocate a 3GiB file...
fallocate: fallocate failed: Disk quota exceeded
Try to fallocate a 5GiB file...
qgroupid rfer excl max_rfer

Since we have no control of how bytes_changed is used, it's better to
set it to u64. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
NFSD: Fix ia_size underflow
iattr::ia_size is a loff_t, which is a signed 64-bit type. NFSv3 and
NFSv4 both define file size as an unsigned 64-bit type. Thus there
is a range of valid file size values an NFS client can send that is
already larger than Linux can handle.
Currently decode_fattr4() dumps a full u64 value into ia_size. If
that value happens to be larger than S64_MAX, then ia_size
underflows. I'm about to fix up the NFSv3 behavior as well, so let's
catch the underflow in the common code path: nfsd_setattr(). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
exfat: fix overflow for large capacity partition
Using int type for sector index, there will be overflow in a large
capacity partition.
For example, if storage with sector size of 512 bytes and partition
capacity is larger than 2TB, there will be overflow. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
scsi: scsi_debug: Fix type in min_t to avoid stack OOB
Change min_t() to use type "u32" instead of type "int" to avoid stack out
of bounds. With min_t() type "int" the values get sign extended and the
larger value gets used causing stack out of bounds.
