| A use-after-free flaw was found in the X.Org X server and Xwayland in FreeCounter(). A client that sets up multiple SyncCounters and awaits on those triggers can trigger a use-after-free when destroying those counters via a second client connection. This may be used to crash the server, or for privilege escalation if the X server runs as root. |
| A stack-based buffer overflow flaw was found in the X.Org X server and Xwayland. _XkbSetMapChecks() declares a fixed-size stack buffer mapWidths[256] indexed by key type index. The helper function CheckKeyTypes() writes to this buffer at a client-controlled offset, allowing a stack buffer overflow. This may be used to crash the server, or for privilege escalation if the X server runs as root. |
| A stack-based buffer overflow flaw was found in the X.Org X server and Xwayland. The X server has multiple stack buffers sized XkbMaxShiftLevel * XkbNumKbdGroups but CheckKeyTypes() does not verify or clamp non-canonical key types to XkbMaxShiftLevel. A client can change key types to excessive shift levels and trigger stack overflows. This is caused by an incomplete fix of CVE-2025-26597. This may be used to crash the server, or for privilege escalation if the X server runs as root. |
| A use-after-free flaw was found in the X.Org X server and Xwayland in miSyncDestroyFence(). A client that sets up multiple fence triggers can trigger a use-after-free function pointer call. An attacker would connect to the X server to set up a fence and await that fence, then a second X connection destroys the fence, causing the use-after-free. This may be used to crash the server, or for privilege escalation if the X server runs as root. |
| A stack-based buffer overflow flaw was found in the X.Org X server and Xwayland. A mismatch between the X server and the libXfont2 library's maximum font name length can cause a stack buffer overflow during font alias resolution. The server allocates a 256 byte stack buffer but libXfont2's alias target name length is 1024 bytes. A font alias name between 257 and 1023 bytes causes the X server to copy that name into the undersized stack buffer without further checks. This may be used to crash the server, or for privilege escalation if the X server runs as root. |

| Netty is a network application framework for development of protocol servers and clients. In versions 4.2.0.Final through 4.2.15.Final and 4.1.0.Final through 4.1.135.Final, any caller that can deliver bytes to a Netty channel pipeline containing `XmlDecoder` can send XML with a `DOCTYPE` declaration to an `AsyncXMLInputFactory` instantiated with no security configuration, leaving DTD and entity handling active depending on Aalto XML async parser behavior and creating conditional XML external entity risk. This issue is fixed in versions 4.1.136.Final and 4.2.16.Final. |
| Netty is a network application framework for development of protocol servers and clients. In versions 4.2.0.Final through 4.2.15.Final and 4.1.0.Final through 4.1.135.Final, a remote unauthenticated peer can leak one direct `ByteBuf` per HTTP/2 `DATA` frame in applications that enable HTTP/2 content decompression via `DelegatingDecompressorFrameListener`. When a `DATA` frame is processed for a stream whose decompressor has already been closed, `Http2Decompressor.decompress(...)` calls `decompressor.writeInbound(data.retain())` and does not release the retained buffer on the error path, eventually exhausting direct memory and crashing the JVM. This issue is fixed in versions 4.1.136.Final and 4.2.16.Final. |

| Traefik 3.6.0 through 3.6.22 and 3.7.0 through 3.7.6 fail to enforce the crossProviderNamespaces allowlist for IngressRouteTCP service serversTransport references (the allowlist was only enforced for HTTP serversTransport references). A low-privileged Kubernetes user in a namespace not listed in crossProviderNamespaces can set serversTransport: foo@file on an IngressRouteTCP service, causing Traefik to accept the forbidden cross-provider reference and use a file-provider TCPServersTransport — including privileged backend mTLS client certificates, SPIFFE identity, or PROXY-protocol settings. This is fixed in 3.6.23 and 3.7.7. |
| Retracted following review by Red Hat Product Security and confirmation from the upstream Clair/Claircore maintainer. This CVE misattributes the described behavior to github.com/quay/claircore: the authentication mechanism in question (optional PSK, HTTP endpoint /indexer/api/v1/index_report) is implemented entirely in github.com/quay/clair; no PSK-related code exists anywhere in claircore's codebase or git history. The unauthenticated indexer API is Clair's documented, intentional design, authentication is an opt-in deployment choice, not a code defect. No fix commit was found in claircore between the version recorded as the affected boundary (1.5.52) and the following release (1.5.53); intervening commits are unrelated dependency and feature changes, so the "fixed in 1.5.52" status is inaccurate. |

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
octeontx2-pf: avoid double free of pool->stack on AQ init failure
otx2_pool_aq_init() frees pool->stack when mailbox sync or retry
allocation fails, but leaves the pointer unchanged. Later,
otx2_sq_aura_pool_init() unwinds the partial setup through
otx2_aura_pool_free(), which frees pool->stack again. The CN20K-specific
cn20k_pool_aq_init() implementation has the same bug in
its corresponding error path.
Set pool->stack to NULL immediately after the local free so the shared
cleanup path does not free the same stack again while cleaning up
partially initialized pool state.
The bug was first flagged by an experimental analysis tool we are
developing for kernel memory-management bugs while analyzing
v6.13-rc1. The tool is still under development and is not yet publicly
available. Manual inspection confirms that the bug is still present in
v7.1-rc3.
Runtime validation was not performed because reproducing this path
requires OcteonTX2/CN20K hardware. |
