CVSS v3.1 |
pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to 6.19.0, a crafted PDF can provide unusually large alphabetical page-label values that cause pypdf/_page_labels.py to generate strings beyond a reasonable page-label length when an application retrieves document page labels, consuming excessive memory and potentially making the application unavailable. This issue is fixed in version 6.19.0.
pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. An attacker who uses a vulnerability present in versions prior to 6.10.1 can craft a PDF which leads to long runtimes. This requires cross-reference streams with wrong large `/Size` values or object streams with wrong large `/N` values. This has been fixed in pypdf 6.10.1. As a workaround, one may apply the changes from the patch manually.
pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to 6.14.0, an attacker can craft a PDF with declared image size values that are much too large compared to the actual data, causing large memory usage in pypdf image parsing. This issue is fixed in version 6.14.0.
pypdf is an open source, pure-python PDF library. In affected versions an attacker may craft a PDF which leads to an infinite loop if `__parse_content_stream` is executed. That is, for example, the case if the user extracted text from such a PDF. This issue was introduced in pull request #969 and resolved in pull request #1828. Users are advised to upgrade. Users unable to upgrade may modify the line `while peek not in (b"\r", b"\n")` in `pypdf/generic/_data_structures.py` to `while peek not in (b"\r", b"\n", b"")`.
pypdf is a pure-python PDF library capable of splitting, merging, cropping, and transforming the pages of PDF files. In version 2.10.5 an attacker who uses this vulnerability can craft a PDF which leads to an infinite loop. This infinite loop blocks the current process and can utilize a single core of the CPU by 100%. It does not affect memory usage. That is, for example, the case if the user extracted metadata from such a malformed PDF. Versions prior to 2.10.5 throw an error, but do not hang forever. This issue was fixed with https://github.com/py-pdf/pypdf/pull/1331 which has been included in release 2.10.6. Users are advised to upgrade. Users unable to upgrade should modify `PyPDF2/generic/_data_structures.py::read_object` to an an error throwing case. See GHSA-hm9v-vj3r-r55m for details.
pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. An attacker who uses a vulnerability present in versions 3.7.0 through 3.16.4 can craft a PDF which leads to an infinite loop. This infinite loop blocks the current process and can utilize a single core of the CPU by 100%. It does not affect memory usage. That is, for example, the case when the pypdf-user manipulates an incoming malicious PDF e.g. by merging it with another PDF or by adding annotations. The issue was fixed in version 3.17.0. As a workaround, apply the patch manually by modifying `pypdf/generic/_data_structures.py`.
pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Versions prior to 6.9.2 have a vulnerability in which an attacker can craft a PDF which leads to an infinite loop. This requires reading a file in non-strict mode. This has been fixed in pypdf 6.9.2. If users cannot upgrade yet, consider applying the changes from the patch manually.
pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to 6.12.0, an attacker who uses this vulnerability can craft a PDF which leads to long runtimes. This requires cross-reference streams with /W [0 0 0] values and large /Size values. This vulnerability is fixed in 6.12.0.
pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to 6.12.1, an attacker who uses this vulnerability can craft a PDF which leads to large memory usage. This requires parsing large XMP metadata, possibly with lots of unnecessary elements. This vulnerability is fixed in 6.12.1.
pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to 6.12.2, an attacker who uses this vulnerability can craft a PDF which leads to large memory usage. This requires extracting the text of a page which contains a form XObject with self-references. This vulnerability is fixed in 6.12.2.
pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to 6.8.0, an attacker who uses this vulnerability can craft a PDF which leads to large memory usage. This requires parsing a content stream with a rather large /Length value, regardless of the actual data length inside the stream. This vulnerability is fixed in 6.8.0.
pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to version 6.1.3, an attacker who uses this vulnerability can craft a PDF which leads to an infinite loop. This requires parsing the content stream of a page which has an inline image using the DCTDecode filter. This has been fixed in pypdf version 6.1.3.
pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to version 6.1.3, an attacker who uses this vulnerability can craft a PDF which leads to large memory usage. This requires parsing the content stream of a page using the LZWDecode filter. This has been fixed in pypdf version 6.1.3.
HotGo through 2.15.1 contains an authentication bypass vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to choose the SMS login verification code by supplying the Code field to /admin/sms/send. Attackers who know a user's mobile number can set a known code and sign in through /admin/site/mobileLogin to take over accounts, including administrators.
Netpbm before 10.86.51, 11.x before 11.02.30, and 11.03 before 11.15.08 contains a stack-based buffer overflow in picttoppm's scanPoly() function in converter/ppm/picttoppm.c. Attackers can supply a crafted PICT file whose polygon edges produce more than 5000 points, overflowing the coord stack array to crash the converter or potentially execute code.
libgphoto2 through 2.5.34 contains stack-based and heap-based buffer overflow vulnerabilities in jl2005c_init() that allow malicious USB devices to corrupt memory by supplying an unbounded allocation table entry count. Attackers can connect a spoofed Jeilin JL2005B/C/D camera reporting 1022 or more entries to overwrite the saved return address and heap data, potentially achieving code execution.
A heap-based buffer overflow was found in Corosync's Totem Process Group (totempg) message reassembly. When processing fragmented multicast messages, the buffer used to reassemble fragments lacks a runtime bounds check in release builds. A network-adjacent attacker able to send crafted multicast protocol messages to the cluster could cause a heap buffer overflow with attacker-controlled data. This can crash the Corosync daemon, causing a denial of service to the entire cluster, and may potentially allow further exploitation given sufficient heap-corruption control.
A buffer overflow issue was addressed with improved memory handling. This issue is fixed in iOS 26.7.2 and iPadOS 26.7.2, iOS 27.2 and iPadOS 27.2, macOS Golden Gate 27.2, macOS Sequoia 15.8.2, macOS Tahoe 26.7.2, tvOS 27.2, visionOS 27.2, watchOS 27.2. An app may be able to cause unexpected system termination or corrupt process memory.
A race condition was addressed with additional validation. This issue is fixed in iOS 26.7.2 and iPadOS 26.7.2, iOS 27.2 and iPadOS 27.2, macOS Golden Gate 27.2, macOS Sequoia 15.8.2, macOS Tahoe 26.7.2, visionOS 27.2. An app may be able to access sensitive user data.
A permissions issue was addressed with additional restrictions. This issue is fixed in iOS 26.7.2 and iPadOS 26.7.2, iOS 27.2 and iPadOS 27.2, tvOS 27.2, visionOS 27.2, watchOS 27.2. An app may be able to access sensitive user data.
