CVE-2026-53233 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-12 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netdev: fix double-free in netdev_nl_bind_rx_doit() Sashiko flags that genlmsg_reply() always consumes the skb. The error path calls nlmsg_free(rsp) so we can't jump directly to it. Let's not unbind, just propagate the error to the user. This is the typical way of handling genlmsg_reply() failures. They shouldn't happen unless user does something silly like calling the kernel with an already-full rcvbuf.

CVE-2026-53238 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-12 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netlabel: validate unlabeled address and mask attribute lengths netlbl_unlabel_addrinfo_get() used the address attribute length to determine whether the attribute data could be read as an IPv4 or IPv6 address, but did not independently validate the corresponding mask attribute length. A crafted Generic Netlink request could therefore provide a valid IPv4/IPv6 address attribute with a shorter mask attribute, which would later be read as a full struct in_addr or struct in6_addr. NLA_BINARY policy lengths are maximum lengths by default, so use NLA_POLICY_EXACT_LEN() for the unlabeled IPv4/IPv6 address and mask attributes. This rejects short attributes during policy validation and also exposes the exact length requirements through policy introspection.
CVE-2026-53286 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-12 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: idpf: fix double free and use-after-free in aux device error paths When auxiliary_device_add() fails in idpf_plug_vport_aux_dev() or idpf_plug_core_aux_dev(), the err_aux_dev_add label calls auxiliary_device_uninit() and falls through to err_aux_dev_init. The uninit call will trigger put_device(), which invokes the release callback (idpf_vport_adev_release / idpf_core_adev_release) that frees iadev. The fall-through then reads adev->id from the freed iadev for ida_free() and double-frees iadev with kfree(). Free the IDA slot and clear the back-pointer before uninit, while adev is still valid, then return immediately. Commit 65637c3a1811 ("idpf: fix UAF in RDMA core aux dev deinitialization") fixed the same use-after-free in the matching unplug path in this file but missed both probe error paths.
CVE-2026-53287 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-12 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: audit: fix incorrect inheritable capability in CAPSET records __audit_log_capset() records the effective capability set into the inheritable field due to a copy-paste error. Every CAPSET audit record therefore reports cap_pi (process inheritable) with the value of cap_effective instead of cap_inheritable. This silently corrupts audit data used for compliance and forensic analysis: an attacker who modifies inheritable capabilities to prepare for a privilege-escalating exec would have the change masked in the audit trail. The bug has been present since the original introduction of CAPSET audit records in 2008.
CVE-2026-53179 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-12 7.1 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: staging: rtl8723bs: fix buffer over-read in rtw_update_protection rtw_update_protection() is called with a pointer offset into the ies buffer but the full ie_length is passed, causing a potential buffer over-read.
CVE-2026-53196 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-12 6.8 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: USB: serial: io_ti: fix heap overflow in get_manuf_info() get_manuf_info() reads le16_to_cpu(rom_desc->Size) bytes from the device I2C EEPROM into a buffer allocated with kmalloc_obj(), which is sizeof(struct edge_ti_manuf_descriptor) = 10 bytes. The Size field comes from the device and is only validated (in check_i2c_image()) to make sure the descriptor fits within TI_MAX_I2C_SIZE (16384 bytes), not against the destination buffer size. A malicious USB device can therefore set Size to any value up to 16377, causing a heap overflow of up to 16367 bytes when plugged into a host running this driver. valid_csum() is called after read_rom() and also iterates buffer[0..Size-1], compounding the out-of-bounds access. Fix by rejecting descriptors with unexpected length before calling read_rom(). [ johan: amend commit message; also check for short descriptors ]
CVE-2026-64901 1 Microsoft 5 Sharepoint Enterprise Server 2016, Sharepoint Server, Sharepoint Server 2016 and 2 more 2026-08-12 8.8 High
Deserialization of untrusted data in Microsoft Office SharePoint allows an authorized attacker to execute code over a network.
CVE-2026-53130 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-12 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fs/omfs: reject s_sys_blocksize smaller than OMFS_DIR_START omfs_fill_super() rejects oversized s_sys_blocksize values (> PAGE_SIZE), but it does not reject values smaller than OMFS_DIR_START (0x1b8 = 440). Later, omfs_make_empty() uses sbi->s_sys_blocksize - OMFS_DIR_START as the length argument to memset(). Since s_sys_blocksize is u32, a crafted filesystem image with s_sys_blocksize < OMFS_DIR_START causes an unsigned underflow there, wrapping to a value near 2^32. That drives a ~4 GiB memset() from bh->b_data + OMFS_DIR_START and overwrites kernel memory far beyond the backing block buffer. Add the corresponding lower-bound check alongside the existing upper-bound check in omfs_fill_super(), so that malformed images are rejected during superblock validation before any filesystem data is processed.
CVE-2026-53143 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-12 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdkfd: Fix buffer overflow in SDMA queue checkpoint/restore on GFX11 The v11 MQD manager incorrectly assigned the CP-compute variants of checkpoint_mqd/restore_mqd for KFD_MQD_TYPE_SDMA queues. These functions use sizeof(struct v11_compute_mqd) (2048 bytes) instead of sizeof(struct v11_sdma_mqd) (512 bytes), causing a 1536-byte overflow. During CRIU checkpoint of an SDMA queue on Navi3x: - checkpoint_mqd() reads 2048 bytes from a 512-byte SDMA MQD buffer, leaking 1536 bytes of adjacent GTT memory to userspace During CRIU restore: - restore_mqd() writes 2048 bytes into a 512-byte SDMA MQD buffer, corrupting 1536 bytes of adjacent GTT memory (often the ring buffer or neighboring MQDs) This is a copy-paste regression unique to v11. All other ASIC backends (cik, vi, v9, v10, v12) correctly use the SDMA-specific variants. Add checkpoint_mqd_sdma() and restore_mqd_sdma() functions that properly handle the smaller v11_sdma_mqd structure, matching the pattern used in other MQD managers. CVE-2026-53146 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-12 7.1 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: thunderbolt: Limit XDomain response copy to actual frame size tb_xdomain_copy() copies req->response_size bytes from the received packet buffer regardless of the actual frame size. When a short response arrives, this reads past the valid frame data in the DMA pool buffer into stale contents from previous transactions. Use the minimum of frame size and expected response size for the copy length.
CVE-2026-53190 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-12 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/virtio: fix dma_fence refcount leak on error in virtio_gpu_dma_fence_wait() dma_fence_unwrap_for_each() internally calls dma_fence_unwrap_first() which does cursor->chain = dma_fence_get(head), taking an extra reference. On normal loop completion, dma_fence_unwrap_next() releases this via dma_fence_chain_walk() -> dma_fence_put(). When virtio_gpu_do_fence_wait() fails and the function returns early from inside the loop, the cursor->chain reference is never released. This is the only caller in the entire kernel that does an early return inside dma_fence_unwrap_for_each. Add dma_fence_put(itr.chain) before the early return.
