In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: vmci_host: fix a race condition in vmci_host_poll() causing GPF During fuzzing, a general protection fault is observed in vmci_host_poll(). general protection fault, probably for non-canonical address 0xdffffc0000000019: 0000 [#1] PREEMPT SMP KASAN KASAN: null-ptr-deref in range [0x00000000000000c8-0x00000000000000cf] RIP: 0010:__lock_acquire+0xf3/0x5e00 kernel/locking/lockdep.c:4926 <- omitting registers -> Call Trace: <TASK> lock_acquire+0x1a4/0x4a0 kernel/locking/lockdep.c:5672 __raw_spin_lock_irqsave include/linux/spinlock_api_smp.h:110 [inline] _raw_spin_lock_irqsave+0xb3/0x100 kernel/locking/spinlock.c:162 add_wait_queue+0x3d/0x260 kernel/sched/wait.c:22 poll_wait include/linux/poll.h:49 [inline] vmci_host_poll+0xf8/0x2b0 drivers/misc/vmw_vmci/vmci_host.c:174 vfs_poll include/linux/poll.h:88 [inline] do_pollfd fs/select.c:873 [inline] do_poll fs/select.c:921 [inline] do_sys_poll+0xc7c/0x1aa0 fs/select.c:1015 __do_sys_ppoll fs/select.c:1121 [inline] __se_sys_ppoll+0x2cc/0x330 fs/select.c:1101 do_syscall_x64 arch/x86/entry/common.c:51 [inline] do_syscall_64+0x4e/0xa0 arch/x86/entry/common.c:82 entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x46/0xb0 Example thread interleaving that causes the general protection fault is as follows: CPU1 (vmci_host_poll) CPU2 (vmci_host_do_init_context) ----- ----- // Read uninitialized context context = vmci_host_dev->context; // Initialize context vmci_host_dev->context = vmci_ctx_create(); vmci_host_dev->ct_type = VMCIOBJ_CONTEXT; if (vmci_host_dev->ct_type == VMCIOBJ_CONTEXT) { // Dereferencing the wrong pointer poll_wait(..., &context->host_context); } In this scenario, vmci_host_poll() reads vmci_host_dev->context first, and then reads vmci_host_dev->ct_type to check that vmci_host_dev->context is initialized. However, since these two reads are not atomically executed, there is a chance of a race condition as described above. To fix this race condition, read vmci_host_dev->context after checking the value of vmci_host_dev->ct_type so that vmci_host_poll() always reads an initialized context.
CVE-2023-54009 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-04-15 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: i2c: cadence: cdns_i2c_master_xfer(): Fix runtime PM leak on error path The cdns_i2c_master_xfer() function gets a runtime PM reference when the function is entered. This reference is released when the function is exited. There is currently one error path where the function exits directly, which leads to a leak of the runtime PM reference. Make sure that this error path also releases the runtime PM reference.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: interconnect: Fix locking for runpm vs reclaim For cases where icc_bw_set() can be called in callbaths that could deadlock against shrinker/reclaim, such as runpm resume, we need to decouple the icc locking. Introduce a new icc_bw_lock for cases where we need to serialize bw aggregation and update to decouple that from paths that require memory allocation such as node/link creation/ destruction. CVE-2023-54015 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-04-15 7.0 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/mlx5: Devcom, fix error flow in mlx5_devcom_register_device In case devcom allocation is failed, mlx5 is always freeing the priv. However, this priv might have been allocated by a different thread, and freeing it might lead to use-after-free bugs. Fix it by freeing the priv only in case it was allocated by the running thread.
CVE-2023-54017 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-04-15 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: powerpc/pseries: fix possible memory leak in ibmebus_bus_init() If device_register() returns error in ibmebus_bus_init(), name of kobject which is allocated in dev_set_name() called in device_add() is leaked. As comment of device_add() says, it should call put_device() to drop the reference count that was set in device_initialize() when it fails, so the name can be freed in kobject_cleanup().

CVE-2023-54143 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-04-15 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: mediatek: vcodec: fix resource leaks in vdec_msg_queue_init() If we encounter any error in the vdec_msg_queue_init() then we need to set "msg_queue->wdma_addr.size = 0;". Normally, this is done inside the vdec_msg_queue_deinit() function. However, if the first call to allocate &msg_queue->wdma_addr fails, then the vdec_msg_queue_deinit() function is a no-op. For that situation, just set the size to zero explicitly and return. There were two other error paths which did not clean up before returning. Change those error paths to goto mem_alloc_err.
CVE-2023-54021 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-04-15 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ext4: set goal start correctly in ext4_mb_normalize_request We need to set ac_g_ex to notify the goal start used in ext4_mb_find_by_goal. Set ac_g_ex instead of ac_f_ex in ext4_mb_normalize_request. Besides we should assure goal start is in range [first_data_block, blocks_count) as ext4_mb_initialize_context does. [ Added a check to make sure size is less than ar->pright; otherwise we could end up passing an underflowed value of ar->pright - size to ext4_get_group_no_and_offset(), which will trigger a BUG_ON later on. - TYT ]

Otherwise they will be lost. In this case an AUTOFS_IOC_EXPIRE_MULTI ioctl is done, then a new waitqueue struct is allocated in autofs_wait(), its initial wait_ctr equals 2. After that wait_event_killable() is interrupted (it returns -ERESTARTSYS), so that 'wq->name.name == NULL' condition may be not satisfied. Actually, this condition can be satisfied when autofs_wait_release() or autofs_catatonic_mode() is called and, what is also important, wait_ctr is decremented in those places. Upon the exit of autofs_wait(), wait_ctr is decremented to 1. Then the unmounting process begins: kill_sb calls autofs_catatonic_mode(), which should have freed the waitqueues, but it only decrements its usage counter to zero which is not a correct behaviour. edit:imk This description is of course not correct. The umount performed as a result of an expire is a umount of a mount that has been automounted, it's not the autofs mount itself. They happen independently, usually after everything mounted within the autofs file system has been expired away. If everything hasn't been expired away the automount daemon can still exit leaving mounts in place. But expires done in both cases will result in a notification that calls autofs_wait_release() with a result status. The problem case is the summary execution of of the automount daemon. In this case any waiting processes won't be woken up until either they are terminated or the mount is umounted. end edit: imk So in catatonic mode we should free waitqueues which counter becomes zero. edit: imk Initially I was concerned that the calling of autofs_wait_release() and autofs_catatonic_mode() was not mutually exclusive but that can't be the case (obviously) because the queue entry (or entries) is removed from the list when either of these two functions are called. Consequently the wait entry will be freed by only one of these functions or by the woken process in autofs_wait() depending on the order of the calls. end edit: imk

When we hit an error we free it all up, however this also calls btrfs_discard_update_discardable, which requires block_group->free_space_ctl->tree_lock to be held. However this is our temporary ctl so this lock isn't held. Fix this by calling __btrfs_remove_free_space_cache_locked instead so that we only clean up the entries and do not mess with the discardable stats.
CVE-2023-54025 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-04-15 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: rsi: Do not configure WoWlan in shutdown hook if not enabled In case WoWlan was never configured during the operation of the system, the hw->wiphy->wowlan_config will be NULL. rsi_config_wowlan() checks whether wowlan_config is non-NULL and if it is not, then WARNs about it. The warning is valid, as during normal operation the rsi_config_wowlan() should only ever be called with non-NULL wowlan_config. In shutdown this rsi_config_wowlan() should only ever be called if WoWlan was configured before by the user. Add checks for non-NULL wowlan_config into the shutdown hook. While at it, check whether the wiphy is also non-NULL before accessing wowlan_config . Drop the single-use wowlan_config variable, just inline it into function call.
CVE-2023-54033 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-04-15 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: fix a memory leak in the LRU and LRU_PERCPU hash maps The LRU and LRU_PERCPU maps allocate a new element on update before locking the target hash table bucket. Right after that the maps try to lock the bucket. If this fails, then maps return -EBUSY to the caller without releasing the allocated element. This makes the element untracked: it doesn't belong to either of free lists, and it doesn't belong to the hash table, so can't be re-used; this eventually leads to the permanent -ENOMEM on LRU map updates, which is unexpected. Fix this by returning the element to the local free list if bucket locking fails.

The caller will dereference the blob when it is not an error, and thus will oops if NULL returned. Return proper error values in the failure cases.
CVE-2023-54039 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-04-15 7.0 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: can: j1939: j1939_tp_tx_dat_new(): fix out-of-bounds memory access In the j1939_tp_tx_dat_new() function, an out-of-bounds memory access could occur during the memcpy() operation if the size of skb->cb is larger than the size of struct j1939_sk_buff_cb. This is because the memcpy() operation uses the size of skb->cb, leading to a read beyond the struct j1939_sk_buff_cb. Updated the memcpy() operation to use the size of struct j1939_sk_buff_cb instead of the size of skb->cb. This ensures that the memcpy() operation only reads the memory within the bounds of struct j1939_sk_buff_cb, preventing out-of-bounds memory access. Additionally, add a BUILD_BUG_ON() to check that the size of skb->cb is greater than or equal to the size of struct j1939_sk_buff_cb. This ensures that the skb->cb buffer is large enough to hold the j1939_sk_buff_cb structure. [mkl: rephrase commit message]

CVE-2023-54041 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-04-15 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: io_uring: fix memory leak when removing provided buffers When removing provided buffers, io_buffer structs are not being disposed of, leading to a memory leak. They can't be freed individually, because they are allocated in page-sized groups. They need to be added to some free list instead, such as io_buffers_cache. All callers already hold the lock protecting it, apart from when destroying buffers, so had to extend the lock there.
