CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: openvswitch: reject negative ifindex
Recent changes in net-next (commit 759ab1edb56c ("net: store netdevs
in an xarray")) refactored the handling of pre-assigned ifindexes
and let syzbot surface a latent problem in ovs. ovs does not validate
ifindex, making it possible to create netdev ports with negative
ifindex values. It's easy to repro with YNL:
$ ./cli.py --spec netlink/specs/ovs_datapath.yaml \
--do new \
--json '{"upcall-pid": 1, "name":"my-dp"}'
$ ./cli.py --spec netlink/specs/ovs_vport.yaml \
--do new \
--json '{"upcall-pid": "00000001", "name": "some-port0", "dp-ifindex":3,"ifindex":4294901760,"type":2}'
$ ip link show
-65536: some-port0: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST> mtu 1500 qdisc noop state DOWN mode DEFAULT group default qlen 1000
link/ether 7a:48:21:ad:0b:fb brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff
...
Validate the inputs. Now the second command correctly returns:
$ ./cli.py --spec netlink/specs/ovs_vport.yaml \
--do new \
--json '{"upcall-pid": "00000001", "name": "some-port0", "dp-ifindex":3,"ifindex":4294901760,"type":2}'

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
iavf: use internal state to free traffic IRQs
If the system tries to close the netdev while iavf_reset_task() is
running, __LINK_STATE_START will be cleared and netif_running() will
return false in iavf_reinit_interrupt_scheme(). This will result in
iavf_free_traffic_irqs() not being called and a leak as follows:
[7632.489326] remove_proc_entry: removing non-empty directory 'irq/999', leaking at least 'iavf-enp24s0f0v0-TxRx-0'
[7632.490214] WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 10 at fs/proc/generic.c:718 remove_proc_entry+0x19b/0x1b0
is shown when pci_disable_msix() is later called. Fix by using the
internal adapter state. The traffic IRQs will always exist if
state == __IAVF_RUNNING. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/mxsfb: Disable overlay plane in mxsfb_plane_overlay_atomic_disable()
When disabling overlay plane in mxsfb_plane_overlay_atomic_update(),
overlay plane's framebuffer pointer is NULL. So, dereferencing it would
cause a kernel Oops(NULL pointer dereferencing). Fix the issue by
disabling overlay plane in mxsfb_plane_overlay_atomic_disable() instead. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
gfs2: Prevent recursive memory reclaim
Function new_inode() returns a new inode with inode->i_mapping->gfp_mask
set to GFP_HIGHUSER_MOVABLE. This value includes the __GFP_FS flag, so
allocations in that address space can recurse into filesystem memory
reclaim. We don't want that to happen because it can consume a
significant amount of stack memory.
Worse than that is that it can also deadlock: for example, in several
places, gfs2_unstuff_dinode() is called inside filesystem transactions.
This calls filemap_grab_folio(), which can allocate a new folio, which
can trigger memory reclaim. If memory reclaim recurses into the
filesystem and starts another transaction, a deadlock will ensue.
To fix these kinds of problems, prevent memory reclaim from recursing
into filesystem code by making sure that the gfp_mask of inode address
spaces doesn't include __GFP_FS.
The "meta" and resource group address spaces were already using GFP_NOFS
as their gfp_mask (which doesn't include __GFP_FS). The default value
of GFP_HIGHUSER_MOVABLE is less restrictive than GFP_NOFS, though. To
avoid being overly limiting, use the default value and only knock off
the __GFP_FS flag. I'm not sure if this will actually make a
difference, but it also shouldn't hurt.
This patch is loosely based on commit ad22c7a043c2 ("xfs: prevent stack
overflows from page cache allocation").
Fixes xfstest generic/273. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net/9p: Fix buffer overflow in USB transport layer
A buffer overflow vulnerability exists in the USB 9pfs transport layer
where inconsistent size validation between packet header parsing and
actual data copying allows a malicious USB host to overflow heap buffers.
The issue occurs because:
- usb9pfs_rx_header() validates only the declared size in packet header
- usb9pfs_rx_complete() uses req->actual (actual received bytes) for
memcpy
This allows an attacker to craft packets with small declared size
(bypassing validation) but large actual payload (triggering overflow
in memcpy).
Add validation in usb9pfs_rx_complete() to ensure req->actual does not
exceed the buffer capacity before copying data. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
bnxt_en: Shutdown FW DMA in bnxt_shutdown()
The netif_close() call in bnxt_shutdown() only stops packet DMA. There
may be FW DMA for trace logging (recently added) that will continue. If
we kexec to a new kernel, the DMA will corrupt memory in the new kernel.
Add bnxt_hwrm_func_drv_unrgtr() to unregister the driver from the FW.
This will stop the FW DMA. In case the call fails, call pcie_flr() to
reset the function and stop the DMA. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/amdgpu: fix nullptr err of vm_handle_moved
If a amdgpu_bo_va is fpriv->prt_va, the bo of this one is always NULL.
So, such kind of amdgpu_bo_va should be updated separately before
amdgpu_vm_handle_moved. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ASoC: qcom: audioreach: fix potential null pointer dereference
It is possible that the topology parsing function
audioreach_widget_load_module_common() could return NULL or an error
pointer. Add missing NULL check so that we do not dereference it. |
| The Qualys Cloud Agent included a bundled uninstall script (qagent_uninstall.sh), specific to Mac and Linux supported versions that invoked multiple system commands without using absolute paths and without sanitizing the $PATH environment. If the uninstall script is executed with elevated privileges (e.g., via sudo) in an environment where $PATH has been manipulated, an attacker with root/sudo privileges could cause malicious executables to be run in place of the intended system binaries. This behavior can be leveraged for local privilege escalation and arbitrary command execution under elevated privileges. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
gpu: host1x: Fix race in syncpt alloc/free
Fix race condition between host1x_syncpt_alloc()
and host1x_syncpt_put() by using kref_put_mutex()
instead of kref_put() + manual mutex locking.
This ensures no thread can acquire the
syncpt_mutex after the refcount drops to zero
but before syncpt_release acquires it.
This prevents races where syncpoints could
be allocated while still being cleaned up
from a previous release.
Remove explicit mutex locking in syncpt_release
as kref_put_mutex() handles this atomically. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
exfat: fix divide-by-zero in exfat_allocate_bitmap
The variable max_ra_count can be 0 in exfat_allocate_bitmap(),
which causes a divide-by-zero error in the subsequent modulo operation
(i % max_ra_count), leading to a system crash.
When max_ra_count is 0, it means that readahead is not used. This patch
load the bitmap without readahead. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
mlx5: Fix default values in create CQ
Currently, CQs without a completion function are assigned the
mlx5_add_cq_to_tasklet function by default. This is problematic since
only user CQs created through the mlx5_ib driver are intended to use
this function.
Additionally, all CQs that will use doorbells instead of polling for
completions must call mlx5_cq_arm. However, the default CQ creation flow
leaves a valid value in the CQ's arm_db field, allowing FW to send
interrupts to polling-only CQs in certain corner cases.
These two factors would allow a polling-only kernel CQ to be triggered
by an EQ interrupt and call a completion function intended only for user
CQs, causing a null pointer exception.
Some areas in the driver have prevented this issue with one-off fixes
but did not address the root cause.
This patch fixes the described issue by adding defaults to the create CQ
flow. It adds a default dummy completion function to protect against
null pointer exceptions, and it sets an invalid command sequence number
by default in kernel CQs to prevent the FW from sending an interrupt to
the CQ until it is armed. User CQs are responsible for their own
initialization values.
Callers of mlx5_core_create_cq are responsible for changing the
completion function and arming the CQ per their needs. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
can: kvaser_usb: leaf: Fix potential infinite loop in command parsers
The `kvaser_usb_leaf_wait_cmd()` and `kvaser_usb_leaf_read_bulk_callback`
functions contain logic to zero-length commands. These commands are used
to align data to the USB endpoint's wMaxPacketSize boundary.
The driver attempts to skip these placeholders by aligning the buffer
position `pos` to the next packet boundary using `round_up()` function.
However, if zero-length command is found exactly on a packet boundary
(i.e., `pos` is a multiple of wMaxPacketSize, including 0), `round_up`
function will return the unchanged value of `pos`. This prevents `pos`
to be increased, causing an infinite loop in the parsing logic.
This patch fixes this in the function by using `pos + 1` instead.
This ensures that even if `pos` is on a boundary, the calculation is
based on `pos + 1`, forcing `round_up()` to always return the next
aligned boundary. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
usb: typec: ucsi: fix use-after-free caused by uec->work
The delayed work uec->work is scheduled in gaokun_ucsi_probe()
but never properly canceled in gaokun_ucsi_remove(). This creates
use-after-free scenarios where the ucsi and gaokun_ucsi structure
are freed after ucsi_destroy() completes execution, while the
gaokun_ucsi_register_worker() might be either currently executing
or still pending in the work queue. The already-freed gaokun_ucsi
or ucsi structure may then be accessed.
Furthermore, the race window is 3 seconds, which is sufficiently
long to make this bug easily reproducible. The following is the
trace captured by KASAN:

This is because the mm->context.vdso_info is NULL in vfork case. From
another side, mm->context.vdso_info either points to vdso info
for RV64 or vdso info for compat, there's no need to bloat riscv's
mm_context_t, we can handle the difference when setup the additional
page for vdso. |

KVM: VMX: Fix crash due to uninitialized current_vmcs
KVM enables 'Enlightened VMCS' and 'Enlightened MSR Bitmap' when running as
a nested hypervisor on top of Hyper-V. When MSR bitmap is updated,
evmcs_touch_msr_bitmap function uses current_vmcs per-cpu variable to mark
that the msr bitmap was changed.
vmx_vcpu_create() modifies the msr bitmap via vmx_disable_intercept_for_msr
-> vmx_msr_bitmap_l01_changed which in the end calls this function. The
function checks for current_vmcs if it is null but the check is
insufficient because current_vmcs is not initialized. Because of this, the
code might incorrectly write to the structure pointed by current_vmcs value
left by another task. Preemption is not disabled, the current task can be
preempted and moved to another CPU while current_vmcs is accessed multiple
times from evmcs_touch_msr_bitmap() which leads to crash.
The manipulation of MSR bitmaps by callers happens only for vmcs01 so the
solution is to use vmx->vmcs01.vmcs instead of current_vmcs.

Mark arch_cpu_idle() noinstr like all other architectures with
CONFIG_ARCH_WANTS_NO_INSTR (should) have it to fix this. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ice: ice_adapter: release xa entry on adapter allocation failure
When ice_adapter_new() fails, the reserved XArray entry created by
xa_insert() is not released. This causes subsequent insertions at
the same index to return -EBUSY, potentially leading to
NULL pointer dereferences.
Reorder the operations as suggested by Przemek Kitszel:
1. Check if adapter already exists (xa_load)
2. Reserve the XArray slot (xa_reserve)
3. Allocate the adapter (ice_adapter_new)
4. Store the adapter (xa_store) |

cifs: client: fix memory leak in smb3_fs_context_parse_param
The user calls fsconfig twice, but when the program exits, free() only
frees ctx->source for the second fsconfig, not the first.
Regarding fc->source, there is no code in the fs context related to its
memory reclamation.
To fix this memory leak, release the source memory corresponding to ctx
or fc before each parsing.
