CVE-2026-63072 1 Openssl 1 Openssl 2026-09-11 7.5 High
Issue summary: OpenSSL CMS decryption sizes the key-unwrap output buffer based on querying the unwrapped key size, but the AES-WRAP-PAD unwrap primitive can write and cleanse more bytes than that query reports, causing an 8-byte out-of-bounds heap write. Impact summary: An attacker who supplies a crafted CMS message can trigger a deterministic 8-byte out-of-bounds heap write when the victim decrypts it with CMS_decrypt(), corrupting the heap and typically resulting in a Denial of Service. CWE: CWE-787: Out-of-bounds Write Description: The key-wrap OID is potentially attacker-controlled on the wire. CMS unwrapping allows both id-aesNNN-wrap-pad and id-aesNNN-wrap ciphers. An attacker can take a legitimate message and change a single OID byte to select the padded variant while leaving the message otherwise valid. Since the unwrap key is derived from the recipient's private operation (ECDH key agreement or ML-KEM decapsulation), the RFC 5649 integrity check cannot pass, and the decryption fails with integrity failure. The write is a fixed-size (8-byte), fixed-value (zero) heap overflow immediately past the allocation, requires no special configuration, and is reachable from the public CMS_decrypt() function. The consequence is a heap corruption leading to a Denial of Service. The fix in the CMS code sizes the unwrap output buffer for the worst case so a failed unwrap cannot write past the allocation. FIPS impact: no As the CMS code lives outside the FIPS module boundary, no FIPS modules are affected by this CVE.

CVE-2026-89438 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-11 4.7 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: platform/x86: ISST: Validate logical CPU id and clos id Validate max CLOS ID and logical CPU ID for core power feature. Reject any clos level or logical CPU number greater than the supported maximum. These are used to calculate MMIO offset.
CVE-2026-80968 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-11 4.7 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: mts64: Check card index validity at probe Although mts64 driver has a check of the given devptr->id value, it doesn't check for a negative id, which is often given as "none" or such value when bound via sysfs. This may lead to OOB access for index[] and other parameters. Add a sanity check for the card index and warn/correct it if it's a value out of the range.
CVE-2026-80960 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-11 5.7 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: dm-pcache: validate on-media seg_num against the cache device size seg_num is read from the crc32c-only superblock, so whoever supplies the cache device on a table load (CAP_SYS_ADMIN) controls it. It sizes cache->segments[] and is the value every later on-media segment id is bounded against, yet it is never checked against the device. Because cache_dev->mapping is the direct map of the pmem, CACHE_DEV_SEGMENT() for a segment id past the device resolves to ordinary kernel memory beyond the mapping; a new-cache init reaching such an id has cache_seg_init() -> cache_dev_zero_range() memset() 12 KiB over that memory -- an out-of-bounds write into the kernel heap at table load. A zero seg_num makes the segment allocations ZERO_SIZE_PTR. Reject a seg_num that is zero, larger than the device can hold, or larger than PCACHE_CACHE_SEGS_MAX before it is used.
CVE-2026-80951 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-11 6.1 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: i3c: master: svc: bound IBI payload to the requested max_payload_len svc_i3c_master_handle_ibi() reads the IBI payload from the RX FIFO into the IBI slot. The loop is bounded by the hardware FIFO size (SVC_I3C_FIFO_SIZE), not by the slot size. slot->data points into the IBI pool, which i3c_generic_ibi_alloc_pool() sizes at max_payload_len per slot. svc_i3c_master_request_ibi() only rejects a max_payload_len larger than SVC_I3C_FIFO_SIZE, so a driver can request a smaller one. mctp-i3c requests 1. Each readsb() then copies the controller RXCOUNT bytes (up to 31) with no check against the slot size. A device that sends more bytes than the slot holds writes past slot->data, an out-of-bounds write into the IBI pool. Bound the loop by dev->ibi->max_payload_len and clamp each read to the space left in the slot, the same way dw-i3c does. A device can still send more than the requested payload. Flush the leftover bytes from the RX FIFO so they do not leak into the next transfer.
CVE-2026-73694 1 Filerun 1 Filerun 2026-09-11 7.2 High
FileRun before 2026.3.0 contains an OS command injection vulnerability caused by a no-op redefinition of escapeshellcmd() in CLI.php that strips shell-metacharacter escaping, allowing attacker-controlled input to reach an exec() sink unsanitized. Attackers can exploit this through an interactive path via image_preview.php with a crafted args parameter requiring superuser authentication, or through a persistent path by storing malicious payloads in thumbnails_ffmpeg_args or thumbnails_ffmpeg_ss that execute when any user triggers video thumbnail generation.
CVE-2026-18888 1 Mongodb 1 Bi Connector Odbc Driver 2026-09-11 6.5 Medium
The MongoDB BI Connector ODBC Driver converts floating point column values into text without checking that the result fits within the destination buffer. When an application reads a sufficiently large floating point value as text, the driver may write beyond the end of that buffer and corrupt adjacent memory. A user who can store data in a collection read through the BI Connector could use this to crash the application performing the read.
CVE-2026-89066 1 Aws 1 Projen 2026-09-11 7.8 High
Improper neutralization of special elements used in an OS command in the task synthesis component in projen before 0.103.0 might allow context-dependent attackers to execute arbitrary commands on a developer workstation or continuous integration runner via shell metacharacters in project configuration values and repository file names that are interpolated into generated task definitions. To remediate this issue, users should upgrade to version 0.103.0 and then re-synthesize the project so that .projen/tasks.json is regenerated with the corrected task definitions. Upgrading alone is not sufficient because the generated task definition file is committed to the repository.
CVE-2026-89092 1 The Gnu C Library 1 Glibc 2026-09-11 4.2 Medium
The nscd service in the GNU C Library 2.3.4 onwards may crash due to a stack overflow when a malicious DNS server returns too large a response for a DNS query, resulting in degraded DNS resolution for the system. Exploitation of this bug needs a system that has nscd enabled and using an untrusted DNS server for name resolution, with the compromised DNS server being capable of processing records large enough to result in a stack overflow in an nscd thread stack.  During experimentation, bind 9 was unable to handle large records, but that could change in future or with a different name server.  In typical installations, nscd is executed in an isolated context as its own user without a shell, due to which any compromise of that service is isolated. There is a remote possibility of nscd cache corruption if an attacker manages to get the stack pointer into a desired point in the heap, potentially resulting in other caches in nscd being overwritten with corrupt data through the stack overflow, until the buggy code path eventually results in a crash. Finally, a crash in nscd may result in performance degradation when resolving names, but it does not result in a denial of service.
